Dirty, dishonest, lazy, corrupt, and greedy politicians are the rule.
Clean, honest, hardworking, moral and fair-minded politicians are the exception.
And the good ones are feared by the bad ones, and become targets of attack if they do not fall in line with the system that is already in place.
This is nothing new.
And it is not only in Chicago, (it’s just that Chicago is notorious for corruption), thanks to all of the gangsters who are now legends.
However, politicians all over the country from the municipal, state, and federal governments are busy making dirty deals that benefit only themselves, with total disregard for the people that they swore they would serve.
The reason that these politicians have, and continue to get away with these acts is because of the American People's acceptance of these acts as normal.
And it begins with their campaigns.
Example: Hillary Clinton, John McCain/Sarah Palin.
At the end of these campaigns, which were full of lies, deceptions, twisted facts, implied racism, and total disregard for what was best for the American People; most people defined these campaigns as hard fought, highly competitive tough campaigns, (even the opposition defined these campaigns in these terms).
When in fact, these campaigns were totally dishonest, inundated with character assaults, false assumptions, subliminal and overt racism, fear mongering, divisiveness, dirty tricks bordering on illegal activity, and at times just pure hatred.
In other words: anything to win at any cost, rather it benefits the American People or not.
And it is important to note that, until the American People, including the victims of these campaigns who are on the other end of this abuse continue to define these actions as normal and acceptable, or hard fought and competitive, instead of calling it what it really is, then this is how it will be.
So the reality is, that this filth in politics is the norm.
But not everybody gets caught.
And when someone does get caught, then the American People become outraged for a minute, and then short-term memory dissolves first, followed by long-term memory, and then the politicians go back to business as usual.
How do I know this?
By observing thousands of voters year after year, falling for the same type of negative, dishonest, vicious, and destructive campaigns as the ones that I mentioned above, without question, without analysis or contemplation, and without the desire to dig beneath the cover story in order to ascertain the truth, or a reasonable facsimile thereof.
Even when these politicians are forced due to circumstances beyond their control to tell the truth, their followers still do not recognize the fact that the politician that they were supporting, are now admitting to them that they had been lying to them all the long.
Even after this, most of these same people continue to blindly follow their candidate.
This is why on election night when John McCain asked all of his supporters to support his new president, a decent, patriotic, qualified American citizen who can do the job, a man who loves America just as much as he does, you heard a multitude of boos from the audience.
Why?
Because after months of lying about Senator Obama’s lack of qualifications, lack of character, questionable heritage, his terrorist ties, his racist preacher, his Arab connections, his Muslim Religion, and his love and devotion to this country, he, (John McCain), was forced by circumstances beyond his control, (loss of the election), to tell his followers the truth, after telling them for months that if they voted for this man, it would mean the end of this country and the end of world.
And if these same people, or people just like them run for office again, the majority of those same followers will throw their total support behind them, even after they have been caught lying to them.
This make no sense to me, and if this is considered to be normal behavior, I am glad that I have been considered to be abnormal every since my childhood.
It is up to the American People to put an end to this.
The fact that the American People did not fall for this, (this time), and they did vote for the best candidate this time to run the country, shows that the American People’s consciousness level has been significantly raised; a positive change brought about by the fact that their was a serious African American Candidate running for President, and therefore, people who would not even normally think about politics, or those who blindly cast votes for the most effective liars, were forced to actually pay attention, do some research, and not let the opposition’s lies or the exterior of the man, (color of his skin), determine his qualifications to run this country.
But don’t forget, there were still a significant number of people who were fooled by these campaigns who still are sleep, and who cannot wait for the opportunity to support this type of campaign again.
But the good news is, (as I said in earlier messages in my newsletter), there are not enough of these idiots like “The Rebel” , “Joe The Plumber”, “Joe Six Pack”, and Soccer/Pit bull Mom, to cause serious concern, as was confirmed on November 4, 2008.
America is definitely moving in the right direction, but some of the crooked politicians and the people who support them will never do this unless they are forced to.
Politicians (for the most part) are only good around election time.
