Who Is Currently On Your TV Communicating With America?

It is the President of the United States of America. He is talking to American Citizens; utilizing the medium by which the majority of Americans get their news and information from: “The Mainstream Media”; about National Security Issues that he has to deal with today and everyday in order to protect this nation and its people from another major attack.

The people who we select to govern our country must have the intelligence, experience, intuition, foresight and the ability to love and protect all of the people of this country that they have been given the privilege of governing-Not just a select few.

President Obama has not chosen to talk to just his favorite American People, or to the only people that he considers to be Americans. Neither has he chosen to talk to just the people who look like, sound like, think like and act like him.

No! He is talking to all of the people of the United States of America as one, in order to inform them, comfort them and to make them aware, (to the greatest extent possible), taking into consideration classified and national security concerns about what exactly is going on with the threats of attacks that our enemies are trying to inflict upon us.

7 Days And Counting…….

On September 29th Tea Party Gubernatorial Candidate, Carl Paladino, threatened to “Take Out” New York Post State Editor Fred Dicker in Lake George, accusing him of sending reporters after his daughter; because as a reporter, he asked a question that most sensible voters would like answered.




Last week, Alaskan Tea Party, Senate Candidate Joe Miller’s, unlicensed, unofficial police squad of goons, handcuffed and dragged Tony Hopfinger, editor for the Alaska Dispatch out of a public building where Joe Miller was conducting a public campaign event. Mr. Hopfinger was attacked after he asked Miller if he had gotten into trouble for playing politics while employed by the Fairbanks North Star Borough in 2008.

The official police had to step in and remove the handcuffs to set Mr. Hopfinger free.

This week, Joe Miller did admit to the truth contained in this claim, which is probably the reason for the attack on the blogger. They were mad because it was true.



On this past Monday, October 25th, Lauren Valle, a political activist and member of move on Dot Org, was pushed to the ground and stomped repeatedly, while she tried to take a picture of Rand Paul for a commercial.



Christine O’Donnell shut down all interviews to the mainstream media, after her foolish comments about witchcraft, mice with human brains, masturbation and evolution. Sharon Angle shut her communications with the American People down after she told a classroom full of Latino Students, that they looked Asian to her. These and many other candidates who are running a campaign based on Freedom of Speech, Liberty and Transparency, have all denied every media outlet except FOX News, who would agree that feces smells and taste good, if one of these Idiotic Racist Republican/Tea Party Candidates say so.

These are examples of how these people would run our government, should we allow them to gain power, like the pastor who says that if the election does not go according to the Tea Party’s Plans, violence is on the table.


I am not sharing these incidents with you to discourage you from voting. I am sharing them with you, to point out the fact that this is what the people are about, who we have been told are in a prime position to take away 25 or more seats in the house from Democrats, thus giving them the majority.

I say all of that to say this:

No vote is a vote for the Republican/Tea Party. And we’ve all had over 18 months to see where they are coming from and where they want to take this country.

I am trying to tell you that if you think things are terrible now under the current Democratic Leadership-Imagine how bad they are going to be if people like those that I mentioned above gain power through our apathy.

We have 8 days to consider the fact that there are very dark and powerful forces at work, that not only want to take this country back to Pre-Civil Rights, but they also want to go back to Pre-Woman’s Rights, Pre-Voter’s Rights, Pre- Disabled Citizen’s Rights, and in fact, Pre-Human Right’s, in favor of establishing a Plutocracy, where the only people who rule are the wealthy.

These forces have also fooled many of their uneducated followers, who are poor, and blinded by hatred against people who are different than they are, to support them in their efforts to do so, based on the “Us Against Them Fear Mongering” generated by the Right Wing Conservative Media Machine, led by FOX “News”.

We’ve come a very long way in this country as far as making this a nation of fairness and equality for all Americans no matter what their skin tone, beginning point in life, what they believe, (that does not endanger other citizens lives), or the size of their bank accounts, etc.

However, these forces do not want this progress to continue, and will do anything, (including buying elections), to not only stop it in its tracks, but to totally reverse it.

One Nation March
The One Nation March is over. It was a very moving experience to stand on the same hallowed ground where Martin Luther Jr, made his I Have A Dream Speech On August 28, 1963. This is also where President Barack Obama, launched his presidency on January 20, 2009.

The thing to remember rather you were able to attend the march or not, is the fact that, your attendance and your vote for Democrats on November 2, 2010, in every race across this country, is an absolute necessity.

We must not listen to “The Poles”, (that are manipulated to discourage those who would not be motivated enough to vote in the first place). FOX News, The Right-Wing Propaganda Machine, or any of our Socially, historically, Politically uninformed friends, neighbors or family members; (especially those who do not exercise their right to vote anyway).

Many good people from all ethnic, social and economic backgrounds have fought and died for this right for woman and for African Americans and other minorities. And on November 2, 2010, we need your vote in order to replace the members of the House and the Senate, (both Democrat and Republicans), who are trying desperately to set this country back to the 1920’s, when only a chosen few were allowed to participate in our country’s Democratic Processes, and in the distribution of wealth and power.

President Obama has made significant progress forward; even though his most racist critics will try to convince those who do not know any better, that the current economic recession which we are in the middle of, (which usually take years to create, and even more importantly, to reverse; (no matter who the current president is), is all his fault, and that it just recently occurred as a result of his election to the Whitehouse.

This is a blatant lie.

This recession is the result of the Wars For Profits Schemes of The Bush Administration during their 8 years of attacks and deceptions against the many people of this country, in order to benefit just a few.

So here are your choices:

To return to the practices and policies that only benefit The Chosen Few: The Republicans.

Or, the practices and the polices that are designed to benefit the majority of people in this country who are not rich or powerful, and who are either just average middle class working people, children born into poverty, the sick, the elderly and the poor: Democrats.

We are now 14 days away from the mid-term elections that most people are taking for granted.

If you are one these people, let me ask you a few questions:

Are you satisfied with the results that the Republicans achieved in the previous 8 years when they were in power?

Are you satisfied with the murder of over 4400 Americans in Iraq as a result of a war for which the necessity has yet to be determined, or announced?

Are you satisfied with the war that continues to rage out of control in Afghanistan? A war, which President Obama actually implemented an exit plan for, instead of staying indefinitely and losing more American lives, while making military contractors richer at the expense of our citizen’s lives.

Are you satisfied with the fact that the Republicans are selling you out, by shipping jobs overseas, so that they can save their rich buddies money on labor cost-leaving our economy in ruins, and our citizens unemployed on a massive scale?

Have you noticed who has been taking drastic actions to try and reverse all of the damage that has been done by the Republicans during their control of the Whitehouse?

And have you notice who has been building up brick walls in order to block every progressive legislative agenda that President Obama has proposed?

It has been the “Party of No”-The Republicans. Which is also now known as the “Party of Nuts”, since the insertion of the Tea Party, who only represents the few nuts who are like them, and no one else.

This is why they cannot stand up to the scrutiny of the “Main Stream Media”, which is where most Normal Americans go to get their news.

Yes! For those of us who voted for President Obama, much is expected, and this is a fair expectation, based on Mr. Obama’s campaign.

Before you get mad about the success that we have not achieved yet.

Please do so after considering the fact that this is not a Dictatorship, and that President Obama has been opposed and betrayed on both sides of the political fence at ever turn.

That is what these Mid-Term Elections are all about.

Removing the people from power who are constantly blocking the progress that we need to make in order to get this country and it’s people back on track. And replace them with people who are willing to work together as a cohesive unit, (Democratically Speaking), in order to return our nation to the nation that it is meant to be.

Equal justice, fairness, and opportunity for all who are willing to work hard and to sacrifice for the things that they need and want in their lives, and in the live of their families.

Please remember all of the failures that we have had to overcome just to maintain, and save our country from financial ruin.

The amount of time that it takes to get out of a ditch depends on how deep the ditch is.

The ditch that the Republicans dug for our country through racism, separatism, fear mongering, exportation of our jobs, and war for profit schemes that hurt so many; just so a mere few could benefit and profit, is indeed very deep.

We are heading in the right direction, contrary to all of the lies that the Republican’s tell about the Stimulus Plan being a complete and total failure, while cutting ribbons celebrating successful projects made possible by the Stimulus. These hypocrites are even writing letters begging for the very Stimulus Money that they all unanimously voted against.

Do not let them fool you!

Unless own a major corporation or are in the top 2% or wealthy people in this country. And I am not talking about those who would like to be there, so much so, that they are kissing the asses of those who are. I am talking about you, who know that you do not fit into the category of wealthy.

If this is you; then you need to vote early wherever and whenever possible, and you need to vote for all Democrats who support Democratic Causes.

Don’t turn this country of to selfish, greedy people, who do not care about anything other than profits.

The Extension of the Bush Tax Cuts proposed by The Republicans for the Filthy Rich Companies and individuals listed above, will add 3.9 Trillion Dollars to the deficit.


Are Republicans concerned with the deficit?
Yes!
Only when it comes to helping the Middle Class, The Sick, The Poor, The Elderly, and The Disadvantaged. But deficits are okay as long as we can continue to do our rich friends favors and get our palms greased in return.
- Repeal small business mandates in the new health care law.
Once again! Let’s redefine “Small Business”. And, lets protect our Rich Friends who own 2% of the nation’s wealth, either individually or as corporate entities.

Cutting Spending:
- Repeal and Replace health care
We would rather see people die before we allow our friends in the Health Insurance Industry to actually have to spend an extra dime to cover children and adults that have pre existing conditions. Or those who already have been paying their insurance premiums to get help when they actually need it, due to a catastrophic illness that may cost our friends to much to cover. So we want to make sure that they have the legal right to let these people die.
- Roll back non-discretionary spending to 2008 levels before TARP and stimulus (will save $100 billion in first year alone)
But let’s not mention the 3.9 Trillion that we will spend over the next 10 years for extending the Bush Tax Cuts for The Rich.
- Establish strict budget caps to limit federal spending going forward
Except for the spending that we demand for our own personal selfish motives; but not for the benefit of the country as a whole.
- Cancel all future TARP payments and reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
Once Again! Cancel everything that does not help us to help our Rich Friends, who compensate us substantially for doing so.

Reforming Congress:
- Will require that every bill have a citation of constitutional authority
Let’s tie up Congress with even more Gridlock than we have already in part of The House, and all of the Senate.

- Give members at least 3 days to read bills before a vote
Does it take Republicans 3 days to read a bill proposed by President Obama before they say “NO” now?- No!
Once they have a “White President”, it won’t take them more than a couple of minutes to vote.

Defense:
- Provide resources to troops
Republicans just voted against funding for the military because of their hatred for Gay People, Immigrants, (who are not a part of their clique), and for the First African American, AKA Kenyan President, (as defined by Newt Gingrich).
- Fund missile defense
We already have enough missiles to adequately defend our country now, and to blow up the entire world over and over again. It only takes one time for us to not have another chance at anything again.
In addition, we are fighting new types of Non-Traditional Wars that do not necessarily require the same forms or levels of “American Military Might” that the wars of the past required. Today’s wars can be fought with a brief case, jet airplanes, pipes filled with explosives or tasteless, odorless, invisible gasses that can kill thousands if not millions, before they are even detected.
War technologies, just like the antiquated ideas of The Republicans, need to be revamped for the realities of today’s world, and not the memories of the 18 and 1900’s.

- Enforce sanctions in Iran
We are looking for excuses to start another unnecessary war, so that our friends in the Military Industrial Complex, or the “War For Profit” divisions of our Government can kill our families, friends and fellow countryman just to make more money.

Our military needs to be focused more on “Defense” as opposed to “Global Conquest”. And our economic focus needs to be turned away from making other countries rich by allowing your rich friends to send jobs overseas, which created the massive trade deficit that we are now dealing with, because we are, and have been for some time, importing more than we are exporting.
The fact of the matter is, that Republicans really have nothing new to offer America. And their “Pledge To America” is nothing more than a repackaging of Newt Gingrich’s “Contract With America” from 1994.

You see!

That is the problem.

The very nature of your designation as “Conservative” already marks you as people who want things to go back to the way they were before…..Before, “Woman’s Rights”, Before, “Workers Rights”, Before, Human Rights, and especially, Before “Civil Rights”.

Oh by the way!

The bottom line with Republicans is this:

They will do anything that they can, to get that Damn Nigger out of the Whitehouse; even if that means destroying this country and everybody in it.

This is their true mission as a political party.

And you can count on this: Although The Republicans are always talking about “The American People Want This” or “The American People Don’t Want That”, the picture above will clearly show you who they are defining as “The American People”.

Their true mission is to turn 234 years of progress into regress. And the successful attainment of this goal will do this country, and “The American People”; and by the “American People”, I do mean all of us, (not just your special band of racist, thieves and murderers), great harm.

In an attempt to make the first African American President of the United States of America look bad in front of the American People, the Republicans invited President Obama to their GOP Retreat held at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
Mr. Obama agreed to delve deep into enemy territory as a courtesy to the American People and to the Republican Party predicated on the condition that they allow TV Cameras to broadcast the event to the country and to the world.
Initially, they were inclined to refuse having the TV cameras present. I guess this reluctance on the part of the Republicans is just their way of doing business. They have always, and continue to lie, lie, lie, and lie some more about everything that they think, feel, see, and do.
What’s even sadder is the fact that they lie to their constituents; the very people who give them their total undying blind faith and devotion, and who have, and continue to support everything that they say or do, even though, (most of the time), what they do is based on Lies, Fear, Partisanship and quite frankly, “Knee Jerk Reactionary Racism”.
Now many sensible people ask: Why would someone want to elect and support people who are always conspiring to lie to them?
It’s because ignorant people are not interested in “The Truth”. Therefore, Right Wing Conservatives, Republicans and Racists who wear many different titles including, “Birthers”, “Tea Party Members”, “White Supremacist”, “Survivalist”, “Skin Heads”, “KKK”, “Nazis” “Patriots”, “Conservatives “, “FOX News”, etc, etc, etc, are prime candidates for the Racially Charged Subliminal Messages that the Republican Party have become famous for.
The majority of the peoples of the United States of America who actually know when they are being targeted by hatred, racism, bigotry, sexism, stupidity and ignorance know this.
Only those who are too stupid and socially unaware, and those who are the perpetrators of all this hatred know different.
What about the Black Republicans you say?
Well! All 3 of them are also racists, who are full of hatred for self, and hatred of their people; and they feel that aligning themselves, and indentifying with people who continue to perpetrate the fraudulent concept of racial superiority, somehow or other, allows them to dis-acknowledge their racial heritage.
No such luck in America “Blackey”!
Now with all of these “Dark” Realities, (no pun intended), the fact that so many people, some black,(but most white), add to that the many foreigners who are desperate to fit in; are still not willing to acknowledge the existence of these “Racist Attitudes”, and while we are on “Race”, lets also add, “Sexism”, “Sexual Orientationism”, “Religious Intolerance” “Classism”, and let’s not forget the Racism that exists within the African American Community against each other because of “Skin Tone” “Hair Type” “Level of Success”, or whatever else. This is also present in the Latino Community and in other cultures of people that reside in the “Good Ole US of A
This denial is really what allows these deplorable human conditions to continue to exist.
So anyway!
Against their better judgment, the Republicans gave in to the Obama Administration’s demand to allow cameras to record, (what was supposed to be an insult and embarrassment to The President, and a confirmation of his racial inferiority, lack of knowledge and lack of qualifications to run this nation effectively.
By the way, the Republicans, “The Party Of No!”, are now accusing President Obama of not being bi-partisan, and being totally unwilling to work with them.
Someone needs to tell them that they lost the election; because they damn sure did not want to work with the Democrats during the 8 years that they were in power.
Of course! Anyone who has been paying attention since Senator Obama’s Presidential Campaign began to President Obama’s Inauguration and his first year in office, knows this is a blatant lie.
But what else is new?
The Republicans, aided by such sell-outs as Michael Steel, have done everything that they could, to discredit, insult, embarrass, humiliate and minimize this man as “The President of the United States”, even after the majority of Americans, (Black and White), made a decision to vote for “Change”, on November 4, 2008. And the “Sensible Americans” who voted for Obama know that “Change” is painful and gradual, (especially when attempting to correct something that has been unfair, unbalanced and imperfect for over 200 years); that being America.
Any place that has been in existence for 231 years that is still saying: “The First African American”, “The First Woman”,” The First Catholic” “The First Jew” “The First Latino”,”The First American Indian” “The First Oriental”, “The First Gay” “The First Anything” to move into any significant positon of power and influence, after 231 years, (when all of these people have helped to build this country and have made significant contributions to its history and its progress), has a serious problem with a balance of power and resources.
So now after this man has bent over backwards to include the Republicans in everything from the Economy, Energy, and (Healthcare Reform), they tried very hard to change reality and history once again, (by lying), during this now famous Q & A Event.
President Obama, tried so hard to “Reach Across Party Lines”, to the point where he even began to lose the support and devotion of the people who believed in him the most; and that was the people who voted him into office looking for “Change”.
And that even included me. His “Biggest Fan”, because, I got sick and tired of watching him continually reach out to people who did not want to acknowledge his power and authority, or work with him, because he is “Black”.
To many of his supporters, it made him appear weak and needy.
However, we forgave him and still throw our support behind him 150%.
Why?
Because just like every Damn American President before him, he is “Human”, he is “Fallible”, and he is “Mortal”.
So, we are not going to do what the Republicans and other Racist Fraternities are trying to do; that being to demand more, and expect less, and to “Hope He Fails”.
When the Q & A Session began, it was clear that the Republicans were not approaching the president with anything that was new and different.
They continued to wine and complain about how many proposals they have tried to share with the president that he and his administration totally ignored.
One thing they forgot to mention during all of this whining and complaining was the fact that they were trying to shove the same old ideas that had failed miserably before down the throats of a brand new administration whose constituents voted for “Change”.
They also continue to forget the fact that anything that they submit to the Democrats must be a suggestion or a recommendation, not a demand.
And here is a very important point of contention to remember the next time you hear a Republican boo hooing about how hard they tired to work with the President.
When was the last time that the Republican Party ever, contributed “Liberal Proposals” for anything in America. This is simply not what they are all about. And their perpectual false insistence that they have tried so hard to work with this president is just like everything else that they say.
It is a lie!
If they were so damned ambitious about creating a jobs bill, healthcare reform bill, and tighter regulations on the major corporations that almost caused the total economic collapse of the country, why didn't they do it when they were in power for 8 years?

Because it is a lie!

What they have tried to do was force that same conservative bull-shit on this new president and his new administration, who knows that if they accept any of these same old ideas, (that Republicans try to dress up as “Fresh New Ideas” , they know that, (“We The People”), who voted them into office will see this as “The Ultimate Betrayal”, and will act accordingly at the poles.
Each one of these so called “Republican Leaders” took a turn at asking the president the same old dumb ass shit that they have been asking him during the campaign and since he has been in office, as well as spewing conservative talking points all over the place, and campaigning for office as opposed to seriously trying to unite with the Democratic Party, the American People, and the Global Community in order to solve problems of Global Proportions.
No! Instead they want to continue down the “Same Old Path To Nowhere”, that impedes progress rather than contributes to it.
And as the Q & A Session progressed, it became increasingly clear that President Obama was not having it.
He answered their questions, (without a teleprompter I might add), and he diplomatically pushed their “Conservative Commentary” aside, deciding instead to deal with substantial matters that are important to this country and its people.
Once again, he proved himself worthy of the job and the trust and confidence of the American People, which I thought he had already done adequately.
However, it’s still true, that in America, if you are a minority, you can’t be “Just As Good”, you have to be “Twice As Good”, to be taken seriously, and then you will still have those who will never accept you anyway.
These are the ones that I just wish this new adminstration would just not ignore, but deal with.
Do not ever ignore or discount small groups of ignorant people like these as just “Right Wing Idiots”, that can be ignored. I say that because, at one point in time, this is the opinion that many people held of Adolph Hitler; and we know how that all turned out.
How do you like that Republicans?-A reference to Hitler from a Liberal?
The trials and tribulations, the hatred, the racism, the threats against his life, and all of the other negative attacks against this president, just shows how far we have not come in America.
But in spite of these attacks, he continues to prove himself time and time again as worthy of the job and the trust of the American People during some very difficult situations that existed long before he took office; although the Republicans don’t like to acknowledge this fact.
Its as if 8 years of George W. Bush/Dick Cheney never existed.
Instead they choose to blame “The Black Guy”, because it is an “American Tradition” to do so.
The Republican’s agenda is simple, and easy to detect and to defend against.
It consists of the following:
1. To keep enacting legislation that supports big business like Wall street, Banking, Oil and Energy, Healthcare, Militarism, and any other industry that they can receive compensation in addition to the fat salaries that they already receive for supposedly serving the American People.
2. To fight for Tax Cuts for the most wealthy individuals in this country, which accounts for only about 5%-10% of the entire population
3. To Drill Baby Drill.
4. To deny that there is a connection between carbon emissions and the survival of the planet
5. To keep poor people poor.
6. To keep minorities out of power
7. To keep everything as “White As Snow”.
8. To deceive “Poor Uneducated White People”, into believing that they have their best interest at heart.
9. To keep the “Good Ole Boys Network Alive”.
10. To destroy the faith and confidence of the American People in the “First African American President”, simply because he is “African American”.
This is the Republican Doctrine in a nutshell, and the reason why it is so easy for the president, or even just the average citizen who has a reasonable level of intelligence, memory, and an average power of observation, to recognize and defend against, is because of the fact that it never changes.
Why the hell do you think they call them “Conservatives”?
If they had their way, not only would President Obama not be President, but we all would still be domestics, servants and slaves instead of Bank presidents, CEOs, and President of the United States of America.
Why do you think they named it the “Whitehouse”, instead of “The People’s House”, which is what our current president calls it.
Because of the natural laws of “Social Evolution”,which their principals are in direct violation of, these were conditions that could not continue to exist in this Universe.
The problem with “Republicans”, “Conservatives”, and all of the other titles that they go by these days is the fact that they are “Evolutionary Retards”, who can’t keep up.
President Obama clearly and effectively demonstrated this fact on National Television.

The Republican’s Response To President Obama’s State Of The Union Address

I know that in these hard economic times, everyone is very busy, and that time is a very valuable commodity.
Therefore, for all of you who are going to take the time to watch the President’s State of the Union Address tonight, I just want to say thank you for your time, and I want to save you a few extra minutes by sparing you the pain, indignity and predictability that the Republican Response will surely be all about tonight.
As has been the case on every positive change that the new president has tried to bring to the country with the help of his Administration, The House ,The Senate, Congress and the American People, do not expect anything less or different from the Republicans tonight.
And now The Republicans Response To The President’s State Of The Union Address:
George W. Bush and Dick Cheney’s Presidency and all of the destruction to lives, the economy, our reputation in the world, the torture, the massive spending that created the current economic crises, their willingness to let major corporations such as Wall Street, The Banking Industry, The Pharmaceutical Industry, The Health Insurance and Healthcare Industry, and every last one of their rich and powerful friends do what they wanted to do, the lack of response to intelligence that led to The Attacks on 911, and The War In Iraq and Afghanistan, and the general and total decline of the condition of the United States of America, physically, mentally, morally, spiritually and financially, was just a bad dream that the entire nation had simultaneously.
None of these things happened.

The Republicans and other racist’s entities are trying to use a statement that was made by Nevada, Democratic, Senator Reid, comparing it to a statement that was made several years ago by Trent Lott.
Here is what Senator Reid Said in a yet to be released book entitled:”Game Change”, Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, described in private then-Sen. Barack Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one." Obama is the nation's first African-American president.
Now analyze this statement in conjunction with the following historical data:
The unsuccessful attempt by Frederick Douglass to win the presidency in 1860 against Abe Lincoln. (Too Dark Skinned, notable proponent of freeing the slaves).
The Unsuccessful attempt by The Reverend Jessie Jackson to win the presidency in 1984 and in 1988. (Too Dark Skinned Obviously Afro centric, notable for preaching progressive rhetoric for African American Causes).
The unsuccessful attempt to win the presidency in 1995 by Alan Keyes, (A Rigid Religious Catholic Conservative Republican), who ran on these values, which the Republican Conservatives live and breathe by).Too Dark Skinned to win.
The unsuccessful attempt by The Reverend Al Sharpton to win the presidency in 2004. . (Too Dark Skinned, Too Dedicated to African American Causes).
The successful election of the first African American President, Senator, Barack Hussein Obama.
Light Skinned, Caucasian Mother, Law Professor who speaks like a law professor and not a social activist. Avoids discussions of race whenever and wherever possible. Does not speak the language of the ghetto as a rule, but can do so on demand.
Now let’s examine Trent Lott’s Statement of December 10, 2002.
"I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either,"
Lott, R-Mississippi, made the comment on Capitol Hill during a 100th birthday celebration for Thurmond, who is retired in 2002 after nearly 48 years in the Senate. The comment was broadcast live on C-SPAN.
Thurmond ran as the presidential nominee of the breakaway Dixiecrat Party in the 1948 presidential race against Democrat Harry Truman and Republican Thomas Dewey. He carried Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and his home state of South Carolina, of which he was governor at the time.
During the campaign, he said, "All the laws of Washington and all the bayonets of the Army cannot force the Negro into our homes, our schools, our churches."
Thurmond's party ran under a platform that declared in part, "We stand for the segregation of the races and the racial integrity of each race."
Thurmond eventually moved away from his segregationist position and went on to the longest career in Senate history. He retired as a Republican representing South Carolina.
One of these statements is a statement of fact; the one that Senator Harry Reid made in support of President Obama.
A dark skinned African American who spoke like a “Black Man”, (although I have yet to know what speaking black means), but I think according to “White America”, and many in “Black America”,, it means not having proper command of the English Language and its execution, then the 2008 Presidential Election would most likely not have ended in the successful election of the First African American President in history.
Trent Lott’s Statement was a statement of support for the hateful racist and segregationist practices, (including lynching), inflicted upon African Americans, (I’m sorry, coloreds), in the deep south in which he was implying that if the rest of the country had voted for Strong Thurman for president, then we “Blacks”, would have been kept in our place, (which was on the plantation in servitude to them).
This is a big difference.
Do I think that Harry Reid should resign for telling the truth? Hell No!
Do I think that Trent Lott should have resigned after his statements? Hell Yea!
I love those who love me and hate those who hate me, and I am not ashamed of that fact.
However, the majority of politicians in this country, (rather they be Democrats, Republicans, or other), play this game of politics by capitalizing on the mistakes made by humans of the opposite party.
And just like the situation that we have now, it never really addresses the real issues and the real solutions to the problems that create the problems in the first place.
So I am just asking all who don’t have at the heart of their intent, political sabotage, or racism as a motive, to please ignore this sudden love that the Republican Party, with all of their all white this and all white that, has realized that it has for the minorities of this country,( including African Americans).
Here’s the real deal:
This is just another orchestrated attempt by the Republicans to make something out of nothing against a man who is already under attack by the people of his own state of Nevada, where President Obama received 47 to 53% of the vote, depending upon which poll you review.
The same man who just happens to be the most effective Senate Leader for “Healthcare Reform” in history.
These Republicans did not care about African American Sensitivities last year, last month, last week, nor will they ever, at the rate that they are going.
So please! Do not fall for these attempts by the republicans to protect the payoffs that they are receiving from the “Health Insurance industry”, The Healthcare Industry”, The Pharmaceutical Industry, or the Dialysis Industry.
Harry Reid continues to support Civil Rights, Healthcare Reform, and President Obama.
Every year over 40,000 people die as a result of not having healthcare insurance.
We must remember that racism has always been and is still a reality in America, and will probably remain that way for a long time to come, if not forever.
However, we must nail Healthcare Reform, and reelect President Obama in 2012, in spite of this fact, just like we did in 2008.
Freedom, Justice and Equality for all, must become a reality in the United States of America, if it is going to grow and prosper as a nation of people, United!
And Michael Steel, you and others like you who cow tow to the racist on FOX, are not even considered to be “Black”, by the people’s opinion of this matters most, “Black People”. So what you say as it relates to us, has no meaning or value to us as people.
But it won’t be long, I told you that those who you defended with your life against Barrack Obama in 2008, were going to turn on you.
